Kamil Liżewski received his Ph.D. in automatics and robotics (photonics engineering) with an excellence award from Warsaw University of Technology, Poland in 2015. His Ph.D. studies focused on developing new digital holographic microscopy techniques and system for measurement high numerical aperture microoptics. After Ph.D. studies, he worked as a photonics specialist in many collaborative projects between university and industry in an area such as automotive and optical metrology. Then he joined an IT company as a data scientist where he stayed almost 2 years. His role was to develop and implement concepts for machine and deep learning projects. He was involved in developing predictive and optimization models, research on deep learning algorithms dedicated to image and signal analysis, statistical data analysis and close collaboration with customers and software developers to provide final IT product. He is a co-author of over 20 journal papers. Kamil joined the Physical Optics and Biophotonics Group of prof. Wojtkowski in the Institute of Physical Chemistry of PAS in Warsaw on March 2019. His current research interest focus on combining optics, deep learning, and software engineering to develop new or to improve existing noninvasive biomedical imaging methods and analysis based on the low- and high-coherence interferometry.
