Lab visit to the Kyushu Institute of Technology
Karolina Księżarczyk spent two months at the Kyushu Institute of Technology. This visit was funded under „Lab visit under CREATE project“ competition. The aim of the lab-visit research was to apply optical methods to characterize new organic compounds synthetized in the Department of Applied Chemistry
Visit to the Leibniz Institute for Tropospheric Research
Kumar Sarang, the Ph.D. student, went for a 3 months research visit at Leibniz Institute for Tropospheric Research (TROPOS), Leipzig supported by optics lab visit under Project CREATE of EU Horizon 2020.
Visit to the Mineral Physics Institute (MPI) at Stony Brook University
Haijing Meng spent three months at the Mineral Physics Institute. It was founded in 1989 and has since served as the launching pad for the Center for High-Pressure Research (CHiPR), a National Science Foundation Science and Technology Center. They have the world-famous high-pressure laboratories.
Lab visit at University of Geneva
Idaresit Mbakara visited the Physical Chemistry Department at the University of Geneva in order to deepen knowledge and great interest in ultrafast spectroscopic processes because these processes investigate dynamics of excited states in ultra-short time scales.
Microsoft Build 2018
Dawid Borycki participated in the Microsoft Build 2018 conference. The aim of this visit was to learn about new software technologies used in Professor Wojtkowski lab. Dawid was particularly interested in the artificial intelligence for computer vision and the intelligent edge.
EGAS 50
Julia Sudyka participated in the EGAS'50 (The European Group on Atomic Systems) conference that took place in Krakow. The conference topics are atomic, molecular, and optical physics. She presented a poster entitled “Optically induced Bloch-Siegert shift in magneto-optical resonances".
Lab visit to Palczewski Lab
P. Ciąćka and J. Bogusławski of prof. Wojtkowski's group visited the University of California Irvine. Their research visit involved working for two and a half weeks at Palczewski Lab (part of the Center of translational Vision Research).
Lab visit to the NASA
Joanna Zapała spent three months in NASA. This visit was funded under the „Lab visit under CREATE project“ competition. During the visit, Joanna Zapała conducted research in the astrochemical laboratory headed by Professor Murthy Gudipati at the Jet Propulsion Lab.
Biophotonics Congress Biomedical Optics
Dawid Borycki participated in the Optical Society of America (OSA) Biophotonics Congress Biomedical Optics. The main aim of this visit was to give a talk entitled Correlation gating quantifies optical properties of dynamic media in transmission mode.
Lab visit to the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne
The main goal of Łukasz Richter lab visit in a group of prof. Francesco Stellacci „The Supramolecular Nano-Materials and Interfaces Laboratory” was the continuation of the project started during his previous visit to that group. The project focused on the development of charged nanoparticles and compounds for bacteriophage deactivation.
