Study visit to University of Edinburgh

The goal of the visit was to perform experiments on human cells using novel microscopic technique:  differential dynamic microscopy (DDM). The plan of the experiments contained quantification of movement of subcellular components in native HeLa cells and observation of changes of mobility during programmed cell death (apoptosis).

Visit to the Quantum and Molecular Photonics Laboratory (LPQM)

Yu-Kai Lai, PhD student went to Clément Lafargue’s group, which is under the structure of The Quantum and Molecular Photonics Laboratory (LPQM). His work oscillates around the optical systems with plays an important role in modern research fields such as biology, chemistry physics. The optical system provides fast, non-invaded, and reliable analysis which is beneficial for most experimental setup.

Innovation Source: How to deal with the investment of a Venture Capital fund

On May, 31 Rafał Bator delivered an open lecture “How to deal with the investment of a Venture Capital fund”. The lecture was held under the series “Innovation source”. The whole society of IPC, including IPC researchers and doctoral students, was invited – 59 persons signed the attendance list. This event was aimed at offering support to researchers, interested in commercial application of own ideas, with development of own ventures and acquiring private funding for initial development stages.

CREATE 2nd SCIENTIFIC SYMPOSIUM

June, 17-18, 2019, the  CREATE 2nd Scienti­fic Symposium entitled “Physical Chemistry in Biological Systems – towards comprehensive research on eye and vision” was organized in Warsaw.

Programme of the symposium covered two days. First day was devoted to broadening of IPC research programme through introduction of the new agenda of Translational Eye Research.

Adam Opalski spent four weeks in the laboratory of Professor Scheler at Tallinn University of Technology, Estonia. This visit was funded under the „Lab visit under CREATE project“ competition. Adam tackles the problem of bacteria becoming resistant to drugs and how to combat that adversity.
