Industrialization Potential of Optics in Biomedicine conference

On the 7th and 8th of October, IPC PAS hosted an extraordinary conference Industrialization Potential of Optics in Biomedicine. Due to the pandemic restrictions, the whole event had to be moved online, but it seemed only to enrich the panel of speakers, who came virtually (in more than one sense of the word) from all over the world, eager to share their knowledge, experience, and passion. All lectures and talks had been streamed live on YouTube but also recorded for further reference.

Innovation Source: From Smartphones to Diagnostics

On November, 5 Professor Hywel Morgan delivered an open lecture “From Smartphones to Diagnostics”. The lecture was held under the series “Innovation source”. The whole society of IPC, including IPC researchers and doctoral students, was invited – 49 persons signed the attendance list. This event’s goal was to show miniature analytical systems that exploit low-cost consumer electronics for both sample processing and sensing of samples and above their path to commercialization.

Innovation Source: How to become an entrepreneur

On October, 28 a course on "How to become an entrepreneur" took place at the Institute of Physical Chemistry PAS (IPC). It was held under “Innovation source” open lecture series.

This event was aimed, in particular, to support a transfer of ideas generated at our institute to business. The event consisted of two seminars and a workshop, delivered by Sarai Kemp, and dr. Nitza Kardish representatives of Trendlines, an Israeli company offering commercialization services at the field of life sciences. The whole society of IPC, including IPC researchers and doctoral students, was invited.

This event was aimed at offering support to researchers, interested in commercial application of own ideas, with development of own ventures and acquiring private funding for initial development stages.
