Study visit to the Wroclaw University of Science and Technology

The aim of Jakub Bogusławski visit to Laser & Fiber Electronics Group at Wrocław University of Science and Technology was twofold. The first goal was to study graphene-based electro-optical modulators fabricated at Aalto University. To do so, he has built an optical setup for measurements of electro-optical parameters of fabricated modulators (modulation depth, frequency characteristics). The measurement setup was tested on the standard commercially available modulator. Then, Jakub trained a Ph.D. student, how to perform those measurements. The second aim was to monitor the status of the fabrication of a 780 nm femtosecond fiber laser, which is being built in Wrocław. Researchers discussed the current status and future perspective on available parameters.
